I have heard amazing things about both of these subs, which is cool. Actually, I have NEVER heard one bad thing. I am curious, how do these two subs compare. I am very much so a noob and know nothing about comparing specs really. All I really do understand is that the Q has a great XMax meaning what, more excursion which could yield more output (bass on the SPL side??)

somewhat right, but its not all xmas..and just cause 1 sub has more xmax then another doesnt mean its louder..with those 2 subs its hard to say man they both have really good sq and both can get really loud..i myself am going with ssa because its new and not many people have them..so it gives me a chance to be different since there are so many people now doing the fi thing..so it just comes down to doing what others are or trying something new...because both will serve your needs..

ssa is the brand the model is called icon and they have nothing to do with fi 2 different companies

i wonder how often someone says SSD, they are referring to the FI-SSD and not the SSD-Icon

all depends man whats sizes? and with fi you got different options to add on..best thing to do is check out there sites
