i listen to mostly rock/metal and need a budget comp set with good midbass.. doors will be deadened with raamaat and have an mdf baffle.. budget is around $150. any suggestion?

No, I believe they are intended to be used in an active setup. At least that's how I had planned to use them. The Polks have xovers.
