Broke BTL Fi can you help?

Recommended Posts

OK so the other day I was showing off my BTL to some friends. Gain is set correctly with dmm, and about 10 seconds in to a song the sub makes a weird noise and then freezes. Well I am thinking I fried the sub and Ill need a recone kit, which made me upset to start with because I only gave it like 2400wrms. Well I take the sub out of the box and what do i find? Not a burnt coil. But a broken magnet on the motor. The magnet is litterally cracked and pushed in and caused the coil to scratch and get stuck. What would cause this? And how can I get it fixed. This sub was never abused.

i'm sure your sub will be warrentied. it is possible that the sub took a nasty fall in shipping and created a weak point in the motor and after time and pressure it finally gave out. either that or you dropped it but i'm not pointing fingers at anyone.

on a side note can we see some pics? i'm interested in how the magnet looks broken up on that motor.

Actually it happened to my BL, but it was determined it happened during shipping. Scott still took good care of me. :)
