Sorry to hear that bro- glad you didn't get hurt.

Is the car fixable? Will your insurance cover it?

Good luck, sorry to see this happen but its good you're ok.

That sucks! I'm glad the box got stuck in the opening and didn't keep moving, though!

I feel for ya man, i wrecked my Kia in the first ice storm of the winter we had here, unfortuantly, it was into the side of a salt truck. glad to hear you made it out of the ordeal pretty much untouched. Airbags FTW

The crazy thing is that the box was screwed down with L brackets. It ripped them right out!

ouch sucks to have that happen. i felt like chit when i got into an accident but mine wasn't near as bad. still a chitty feeling. it's good that you are OK out of it all.

i don't want to sound like a dick or anything but honestly the way i see your box with only 2 L brackets and 2 screws holding it down to actual metal is poorly affixed to the car. next time for sure use more and in different locations/

you car isn't totalted. i've seen much worse. like people who hit telephone poles and such. tottaled would be if the car had extensive frame damage along with like a roll over.

either way good luck man!.

Glad your ok, and sorry to hear about the car. I had my first car totaled and still wish they didn't =(. They will total it if the cost of repairs is 75% of what the car is worth I believe. So I think you should be good.

But that box wasn't really secure, at least it doesn't look like it. That little L bracket won't do much when force is applied especially with that big box. Try bolting it down to the trunk next time.

yeah that box setup was only temporary... the nite of the wreck i had plans of building a wooden floor which i could secure the box to ... also this is only a $13,000 car brand new... its the plainest one they make... soo really it wouldnt take much to equal 75% of its value...

i got the estimate today it is 12,400 + more for labor to replace the front frame rails so im pretty sure they arent going to fix it.. im looking at a 2006 Ford F150 regular cab..(big regular cab) i hope to get something soon so i can get ready to finnish the SPL season.
