i have a few dents my lil brother put in my moms minivan when turning in a tight alley..the dent is about 7-8''in length maybe 3'' wide and goes in about 2'' deep..i was thinking of fixing it before trading it in because i know the dealers are going to deduct alot because of it..

i work on all kinds of vehicles, where is that dent located? quarter panel? can you gain access to the panel?

its on the right side the back door that slides back and forth to let people in and out..i think i can remove the panel from the inside

ok youre gonna need to goto a local paint and body store, get a hammer and dolly set (is with buying for future uses trust me) , get body filler and activator, do you have a DA sander? If not get some straight paint mixing sticks, also gonna need 80-180-320 grit sticky backside sandpaper, thats the start cost for all these will be around 180 maybe

It is being replace. Well, the door is not, obviously. That I can hammer out.

I was leaving a gas station and a dog ran in front of me and I swerved and hit the damn concrete gas pump protectors. I knew I should've hit the dog.

No, it was about a 1-2mph bump if that. I grew up a body shop, so it's an easy fix.

Lol, both the cars I have now were bought crashed cheap. I fixed the rollover and had a guy fix the other one that was not that bad, just fender and doors on one side. Was working too many hours when I got that one at an auction. I should look around for another its been a while, but too busy right now.

At 1-2 mph I would have tried that really big pedal on the left side

Yeah, well, reactions are a little different than having time to think. Oh well.

Its an element of time. Get a used fender and cut it in you can even use spray can to do it. Take the car and have it painted and blended into the door you repair...or get a door if cheap enough depending on damage and spray the whole side. That is what I do. You have to get car paint on the outside to hold out/look good unless you can do that yourself. If you find a smaller bodyshop and have them do it when they are slow you can get a better deal on paint. Even if you just get the parts and help prepare the car, like removing things and cleaning it well just don't lose anything.
