why so many recones

i been looking at this forum for a while know and i see a lot of people asking to get a recone.

is it users fault or is their something wrong with the series of sub?. most people say this about the Btl

User error pretty often, but a lot of people recone RE MTs because they abused them- and it's cheaper to get a fi/re hybrid than recone RE (or several other brands for that matter.)

Most recones are from other companies, the rest are user error.

You also need to remember - what is "a lot". 10, 15, 50. . .

Fi has sold HUNDREDS of subs. . .The number of recones asked for is not that many in comparison.

But as already stated, most people who buy the BTL run way more power than you should, and then many of those do not set up everything properly. The BTL will handle loads of power, but only if you know what you are doing.

The reason why you see so many re-cone requests on the Fi forum is because they do such an amazing job at re-coning. Many people also clip the hell out of the signal they send to their btl's with cheaper amps (not naming any names but you see it a lot).

burping is the second... i know for a fact that people will send say 5000 watts to a 2000 watt sub just while burping.

yep, when i was doin some research on those subs(BTL), i've posted this before a while back but i believe it's only recommended by user experience to use a MAX of 3,000w amp for a fully loaded BTL. Anything bigger requires attention and care. I believe 2,500w is recommended as a general preference fully loaded but 2500...3000 not much difference.

Look at it like this, if it wasnt user error and there were lots of faults... you would be seeing topics on this forum and others mainly about poor choice in soft parts and unreliable audio equipment..

You don't see an overwhelming supply of threads like that so don't worry.

You only see problems because Fi is one of very few companies like the others who have forums here too who let you see all sides of the business all the time without hunting for answers.

If Fi didn't have a forum.... it'd be a lot harder to do research as fast as we can.

Conclusion - It's all GooD

i have heard of them..... i found them before i found scott..... but i knew that was not what i was looking for.... so i kept looking...

I think even with the forums the percentage sold as compared to more commercialized, mainstream brands is still very small - not that that's a bad thing, always
