BTL questions

Recommended Posts

I currently have a MTX Audio 9500 as a play around sub, but was wondering about switching to a BTL.

My question is, I'm going to be using it for pure SPL competitions and was wondering about the options available on it. I understand most of the options, but what would be the ideal combination of options for a pure SPL vehicle on 2 Sundown Audio 1500D's strapped?

OR would I be underpowering the BTL, and need to try a BL?

Also if Steve pr someone chime in about the best pricing available?

Thanks

Geoff

Yea, this is nothing but a pure SPL vehicle now. Going for nothing but loud. But my main concern is, with 2 Sundown 1500D's strapped, would I be underpowering it or would it be fine?

I'd be running .25 ohm at competitions.

Also what would be the ideal option combination for a pure SPL BTL to perform at its best? I don't know a lot about FI, so I'm asking questions. :drink40:

Third Mag, cooling and the SPL option is all that it needs?

How exactly will you achieve .25 ohms on a DVC 1 woofer? Do you mean per amp?

Hopefully you've got the electrical backbone to support that.

Also, what the redneck said about options is correct.

Sorry John, meant to clarify, that would be .25 ohm PER amp.

I got enough electrical for 10000 watts probably, I'm good in that department.

Big 3 in 1/0 gauge , 1/0 gauge power and ground, 2 rolls and a custom Xcessive Amperage alternator on the vehicle of 220 Amps, that has a sheet of 229 Amps with now 2 Kinetik 2000 HC's and a yellop top optima.

Just wondering if running .5ohm on this sub would be fine when I strap the amps down to .25 ohm? Not trying to blow up anything, but I like to push the product to its limit. I'm giving this MTX 9500 12" around 3,500 watts RMS set about 1/2 gain and its taking it like a champ so far.

But I'm not digging the 4 ohm style that it came in, so I'm wanting to switch.
