1500D's strapped

Recommended Posts

Since my 4 15" Soundstream T4 project is being delayed, I decided to strap both amps into the sebring on 1 MTX Audio 12" 9500 subwoofer today.

Got both amps strapped up, all connections good and the master amp set at 1/2 gain and 1/2 bass boost in a 2.5 cubic foot box tuned to 38Hz.

My first reaction when the bass hit.....was like......HoLy SH**.. It literally took my breath away and I had to turn it down. My trunk was trying to jump off the car literally. 1 ohm on each amp, and this 9500 is taking it like a champ. Amps never even got warm. :lildevil:

These SAZ 1500's are some badass amplifiers, and I'm very impressed with them.

Thanks for making great amps Jacob, appreciate it. :bananaDance:

Probably not long, lol... :suicide-santa:

It's ok....if this MTX 9500 takes a crap, a Mach 5 SPL 12" will be in its place, bet on that. :cookiemonster:

As for pics/vid's , I'm going to a competition this weekend looking for a 147 at least, will get a bunch while I'm there. Think 147 is feasible with this setup in a trunk car? The sub is facing forward like my old RE SX 15".

Anyone have any experience with this sub?

i have a little. i did a box for a pair of 9500 12" dual 4 ohms a few years back. it was an olds alero with stock alt and 3 yellow tops in the trunk running a pair of memphis mojo 2000d's. port was on pass side of trunk firing to the rear with the subs, box was 4.5 internal not counting port or sub displacements. the car didnt meter super great but i cant claim that fairly cause the shop i did boxes for at the time uses an old audiocontrol and they like to play with the -/+ 10 db knob on certain cars (if you got cash and they want you to spend more of it, they turn it down. if you dont buy from them, they turn it down. if you have two memphis M3 15's in a prefab forted box on a power ref 1000d and you drive a soft top isuzu rodeo and work there, you hit 163). i know the owner of the car abuses the crap out of his equipment and the subs held up to both the mojo amps for a over a year but he totaled the car and i have no idea where the enclosure and amps went next. i wish he had it last year cause that "163 db" rodeo got on a termlab at a real show and couldnt get it past 140.6, he got out the car and started yelling at other competitors "i hit 163 on our shop mic you guys are cheating!!!" ignorance is bliss.

anyways, good luck on the score and feed all the power you want into that 9500, the cones break before the coils do.

I'm going to feed it 3000 watts RMS......that should be enough to move it.... :lildevil:

They are strapped, with each amp @ 1 ohm.

Dual 4 ohm sub wired to 2 ohm, with each amplifier seeing 1 ohm. Have a Kinetik 2000 batt and an Optima Yellow near the amplifier.

Wish it was a dual 2 ohm sub so I could get the amps to 0.5 ohm.. :cookiemonster:

It is a beast though, scared the old lady at the stop light today with a little music by Trae on his Truth of Life cd... fing05.gif

Haha...glad you're enjoying your new Sundown amps! The1500d is a monster!

I miss mine every single day... Someday I will be replacing my long lost memories of a pair of SaZ-1500d's with SaZ-3000d's.
