I hear everyone talk about how great the old strokers were, and how loud they were.

Planet audio has the new FU series... How do they compare. particularly the 15's? are they loud?

They were loud for their time, but as technology improves, so does speakers that are loud. I haven't heard those subs, so I can't comment on them.

the planet audios look to be an almost exact replica, but I dont think they were ding the same numbers as the CV's, I did get to see them a few times in action, PPA brought their lime green Astro to the area with 4 15s in a wall for ss3-4 2 years ago and it put up 1st place numbers, but then again they were fully sponsered

from what I understood of it, the FU's were knock off's. Think: a wheel company making a one-off Z06 wheel and selling it a lil cheaper so you can put it on your base model... etc.

They dont sound too much worse. Not as hardy of a sub, from the few that I've been around.

Theory is that they bought the recipe back when CV was really floundering.

so they are pretty capable subs? They go for good prices on ebay

like 149 for the 15's.... I don't hink that sounds too bad

I was looking at getting 2 15's. Hoping to break 150 on tl....

those are just one consideration among many.
