install in truck

Recommended Posts

just finished putting a memphis pr10 in a 1ft^3 box, tuned to about 37-38 hz ( i lenghtened the port 3/4" ofer the recommended, which would have been 40hz), being pushed by a memphis pr140...yep, a whooping 70 wrms!!

anyway...ummmm..WOW! while not a spl monster, it is loud! i am definitely going to have to find a 200-250 wrms amp and see what happens!

some pics soon...i didn't take pics of the build, but i will take some of the semi finished box ( i will carpet it gray in a week or so)..

it's also very musical.i am indeed impressed. maybe it was thinking how loud it wouldn't be,it is just 70 wrms and check my sig to see what i'm used too, that i set myself up for failure...but it has impressed me in a very short amount of time i have gotten to listen to it. ( about 2 hours..lol) gain halfway, h/u sub setting on 9 outa 15 and the bass boost switch on ( will play with it more tomorrow)...

like i said, nothing that will win a competition, but it's loud for what it is!

Wanna do my lawn while you're at it?

Paint it the color of the truck :slayer:

Nah ... I think that might stick out just a little.

The PR's are a very good woofer for the price. My buddy had a PR10 with 150 WRMS on it and it did a 138.7 in a prefab box in the trunk of his Mazda 626, granted that was when the car ws stripped getting ready for the final installation.

i think that even with just the 70 wrms going to it now, it'll grad a lo/mid 30 on the tl outlaw...high 20/lo 30 legal.....

i believe it's almost as loud as my old eights..of course, it could just be since the tuning is lower, it just sounds louder..

anyway...i like it a bunch!! alot more then expected!!

I personally think the grills would look best covered in cloth.

today i got a compliment i'd never thought i'd get....

i stopped by radioactivity to talk to scott about the clarion and to tweak my sub/amp...

well, fred, the memphis rep for the area, came in. i was inquiring about the price of the new pr500d..so i could throw a lil more power to my sub....

he wants to listen to it....

sits in my truck 10 minutes listening to lil whyte..

get's a big shit-eatting grin..

says that's the lowest and cleanest he's ever heard a pr10 play!

looks at the box...strokes the box....loves the box..hehe

tells me for 70 wrms rated (says it's more like 120, u know memphis underrates things..hehe) that he'd buy it...

now, hopefully, he's going to help get me hooked up with the pr500d, two new pr10d's, though i'll just be running one at 2 ohm at first..and some sq componets to replace my focals....

i just can't get over him liking my setup that much :thud:

of course, he could just be yanking my chain to get a sell.....

but for now, i'll take it as a compliment..one i thought i'd never get!
