MECA Event @ Carl Casper 2008 (pics!!)

Recommended Posts

I looked for you there, but I was not sure if I was even going until the night before cause I had been sick all last week and as stated before I just got a new car and didn't have anything in it so there was no way I would win, or thats what I thought anyway. :D I will get ahold of you for the next one.

Well that's better. I couldnt fold my back seats down and have a box lay down over it for daily. At least that was just for comps. I didn't want my car to look tacky with a daily setup like that so glad to hear that you have an alternative setup that doesn't require that.

I've been doing drawings in CAD now since the VERY beginning of this year... yea that long.

Gotta make sure i can find the most space and see what i can do to it's fullest... with the spare tire!!

That is six flags kentucky kingdom.

No disrespect to the place or the state especially since I live there but that is where that incident with that girl happened where part of her foot got cut. That was the reason for all of those types of rides to get sut down for investigation.

The place is a great place for kids but if u like to travel, I favor Cedar Point as the grand tourist/amusement park out there!

actually andy's car just sounded better on the 70 point judging scale vs. the other 2 cars in his class. speaker placement, tuning, and sound preference can be a double edged sword when you are being judged by the human ear.

on another note i cant wait to change out my midbass, mid, and high amps out to sundown. brock didnt mention i ran SQ at casper, modex+ class. the 1500d had amazing control, one 1/4 turn down on the gain knob and 22 cubes of 6th order bandpass turned into 50hz on down of audio bliss.

I don't really know the exact tuning. We just tweak them till they peak where we want them.

These are legal MECA scores at the headrest with the termlab meter.

Since we were indoors, we had to have our engines off. That hurt some of the street and mod scores. Amateur Street always meter with the engine off and only one battery in the stock location.

Oh, and we have to run fusing. My score was done through a single 80 amp ANL fuse.

You are always throwing up some good numbers. What is your meter placement?

Those were not bad scores considering all engines were off and most of the guys were Ameratures with only one battery. Keep in mind all was done on fusing to. I think Jermey was allowed 80 amps of fusing. With the car off and something he through together just for the show. He did a respectable number. I saw him testing with the car off doing a 149 something. I believe he got over a 150 with the car on. When I pull the van out I hope to be over a 155 at the headrest and tapping close to a 130 in Driveby on 120 amps of fusing.

I'm so happy for you Jacob. Shows what word of mouth can really do. I took my sundown amp to the local shop here in Columbia and the guy there said, "You know alot of companies will take their amps and put any name on them you want if you pay them a little extra", and he was implying that your company merely paid kicker or someone to put a new face on one of their amps so you could sell them as your own. He had never heard of your amps and he was bragging to me about how all the major SPL competitors locally come to his shop to get their work done.

Hopefully as more people keep winning with your amps the word spreads quicker and people like those at my shop will stop acting like I'm buying some crap brand to save a few dollars. It's rather annoying to bring in a quality amp and being insulted because the guys there know nothing about it.

He also thought that adding the Sundown 100.4 would be a downgrade from the JL A4300. After it was installed tho he STFU, it was great. Love you Jacob, wish you the best of luck on your continued success!

Lord Baccus, im not sure what Jeremy's box tuning is like but he was stuck using 80 amps of fusing and no maxi fuses allowed. thats pretty amazing for a headrest score on a 3000d with so little of fuse.

Brocks Monte Carlo did a 151.4 at the headrest at 34 hz, he was running a single 120 amp mini anl fuse to his 3000d and he ran the 5 minute demo time they gave us on that fuse too. the fuse is still in and has been played on for well over 30 minutes (he has the subs out right now). i have had his car break 155's in the kick at 36 hz but no fuse limitations.

i am the only one in the group running a single sub (fi Q 18") and i did a 149.3 headrest style at 32 hz off of a single 1500d. i only have a 1.5 db loss across the 30 hz to 50 hz spectrum but im a wide musical range 6th order bandpass thats bigger than my refridgerator. i have never metered in the kick but i doubt i get it very good down there. now with my soft top on the tracker my "legal sealed on the dash" score is almost a db over my headrest score which is cool.

i think it is amazing that both Jeremy and Brock can run so little fusing to their 3000d's and get the output they have. i know in basic testing my single 1500d would eat 60 amp fuses pretty quick but i was getting 1550 clamp meter tested watts at a 1.7 ohm load.
