Recommended Posts

What is the max power that could be run to one of theses safely on a daily basis without having to worry about blowing it constantly.

Fi recommends 2kW.

Beyond that, use your own ears and sense to determine when the driver is past its limits :)

2k is for the standard BTL, a fully load could probably handle closer to 3K daily.

That being said, Meade runs a RF T-4000.1BD to each 18" BTL, and those are probably pushing closer to 5K Rms with the proper electrical. This is however, a comp setup and not daily. but it gives you in idea of what the can handle...

Give em good clean power, and watch the gains/bb, and you shouldn't have a problem.

I'd say go for the Sundown 3000, should be a perfect match.

For daily driver, I would take (2) 15's over a single 18, if you can afford it.

I went from (2) 18's to (4) 15's in the same box/wall with the same amps. Metered the same, but the peak dropped from 42-43 Hz to 36-38 Hz. Man what a difference that makes listening to music. . . .My friends that heard the 18's could not believe just listening to music the (4) 15's metered the same as the 18 setup.
