Bad idea using two tweets, you want one driver per frequency range...

Putting a midrange and a tweet in the kick and a midbass in the door is a fairly common way to set up a 3-way front stage, though you'd want to play around with the aiming to see what actually works best for your install. I've heard kick-mounted tweets that I've liked, and dash tweets that I've liked.

If you truly are using SQ as a term and understand its meaning you really cannot install two drivers playing the same frequency range.

I failed doing this same thing in my car a while back.

Hey, we all make mistakes :) Good to make them in fact, as long as we learn from them.

maybe not in terms of pure sq, more like will it sound ok and not run into some weird cancellation that would make listening suck

No, in terms of any SQ. Don't use the acronym if you don't know what it means.

There's SQ and Not SQ. No such thing as "pure sq".

It will suck for SQ having two tweeters playing the same thing. But if you're into sucking..

what about those whole upstage tweets? Just wondering because i currently have the tweets high on the door and when i finaly get pods made i wanted to get tweets in them as well. Im not sure how much if ill even like the tweets on the bottom but theres only one way to find out and i can always disconnect them. lol ill stop rambling but i was just wondering because quite a few companies sell the "upstage" kits

I don't agree with the "upstage" idea - if mounting tweets on the pillar raises the stage height, just put the tweets there :D No need for two sets, and it ruins any chance of having a clearly-defined image when you have the same frequency coming from two distinct points at the same time.

It's a good way for them to sell more tweeters, that's for sure.

You'd actually be surprised Jim, the upstate tweeter's crossover makes them very soft, I didn't even think mine were playing at first, but they made a difference in the staging in my car, but my car isn't setup for sq, just to look great and sound good to the average Joe. I was actually amazed in my car the difference in the CDT upstage setup. But again, my car isn't SQ, just a nice sounding daily driver.

/\ and still gives you that nice eff up my system cancellation as well, no reason at all for them. Just put the one and only set there.

I think you should get some Velcro or duct tape and start experimenting with what position sounds best for your install. That might be down low, high up, somewhere in between, on the dash...who knows :)
