Reconing an Adire Sadhara sub?

Recommended Posts

I was sent here by the good folks at AVS forum. I have a Sadhara sub with a blown voice coil, and they said I need a reconing on the sub. I guess Scott from Fi Car audio has worked on other XBL^2 drivers, it's possible that he may be able to help me out?

Im in the dark here...so any help anyone can offer would be very helpful :)

Woah those were expensive when they came out in 2002/3.

That driver was supposed to be awesome but Dan never released any real specs on the driver itself.

Hopefully it's similar to the Tumult or the Brahma.. but I doubt it is.

Nick, it's one of their home theatre subs. About four feet tall, cylindrical wood tube, 18" in diameter. The sub was a 15" IIRC.

The whole setup was passive, you had to externally amp it. Suggested power was between 300 and 800 watts.

I'm the one that sent the OP here.

Here's the driver info from the WayBack Machine - link.

T/S parameters are in the link above.

I am SUCH a newb when it comes to this kind of thing, what coils do I want? It's a DVC sub...so...the kind that will be loud? I don't know really, what are my options?

Are you sure it's DVC? The standard was SVC 4 ohm but it's possible you have a DVC 2 ohm.

I guess I just assumed it was a DVC because it has the wire on it which I thought connected both voice coils.

I'm looking for it to be 4 ohm SVC as it came.

You can see both terminal blocks in the first picture.
