10'' Setup Help

Recommended Posts

Alright, I have a Chevy s10 extended cab, my friend has a Ford ranger ext cab with one audiobhan 15'', sealed box with 400 rockford watts going to it. Its acually a pretty chitty sub, but it gets the job done, right. So my question is, how can a put one 10'' in my truck to have a better "system" than his. I don't really need to be that much louder than him, but I want it to sound GOOD. really low and tight if possible from a 10. Im not gunna say a sq sub because I really don't know what that would mean. I have looked at the Fi Q10 with a Hifonics amp. Would this do it? Or could I go a little smaller with something like a Soundspliter or AA? The box would be custom built by me. It has to be 1ft^3 or less because of space restrictions. Probably sealed as i dont really now how to built a ported box. A classic Chevy vs. Ford battle! Thanks for you input.

** ******* should do you good. They have good sq in small sealed boxs and can handle 600watts. If you wanted you could go with a smaller box with one.

Sq= Sound quality, it all depends on the person's listening really. Anyways, your can't go wrong with either company. The RL-i10 only requires a 0.4cu^ft box. Haven't heard them in person but, from what I've read they sound awesome in sealed boxes.

Which amp are you planning on now? Hifonics makes a lot of crappy amps..

Have you thought about two 8's possibly? The Ascendant Audio line makes a bunch of great sounding subs.

Small driver, small box, going to be hard to compete with bigger on both. Acid's rec's are good though.

I'm aware that hifonics is kinda sketchy. I was looking at the BXi 1206D. It claims 1200rms, so i was thinking somewhere in the 900~1000 range, which sould complement the Q nicley right? Will i still get fairly clean bass with this?

I have considered two eights. The only problem is i wanted to do a downfireing built and with two eights, the box would become wider than what i wanted (I would lose the function of my jumpseats.)
