I have a JBL gto 1200.1 II amp that puts out about 1100 watts at 2 ohms. Right now I have 2 Orion HP 12s in 1.2 cubes each and they sound ok but I would like a louder setup that'll have good sq. I'm considering a different pair of 12s sealed or a single 12 ported.

I've always ran sealed setups with 12s and I'm thinking of trying a pair of ported 10s. Can a pair of ported 10s get louder than and have good sq like a pair of sealed 12s? Right now I have 2 Orion HP 12s sealed.

What single 12 do you have and what size box tuned to what? I want a 12 that'll get loud and have good sq. I'de go up to 3 cubes for an enclosure.

On the power you don't have... The BL and the RL-p are the only ones I'd choose.. although for separate purposes. The BL for SPL and the RL-p for SQ.

Single 12 for both choices.

Is the BL really just an all out spl sub and what do you mean by the power I don't have?

It is not meant as an all out SPL sub. Plenty of people are using it in a daily driver and loving it. It is for people who want a Fi driver and have 1000+ watts or so and want to go ported. I have seen one take well into 5000 watts for SPL burps, but it was done by a well skilled audio guy.

Rainbow Vanadiums would do very well for that.

Thought those subs needed more power than that? Both are great choices if 600 watts would be good for 2 or either. Was also thinking about a pair or Sound Splinter RL-i 12s sealed or a pair of RL-i 10s ported. Would a pair of 10s ported sound musical and also get loud?

Good amount for either...just because there are people running well over RMS ratings, doesn't mean you have to...

I believe there are no more Si BM's left until the new model comes out. In addition, the SS RL-i 12 is not around anymore.

John's idea of the Sundown SD-1v2's ported would be sweet. In addition to the Fi X 12's on clearance, there might be a few left. Also, I love my RL-i 8, and the RL-i 10 is a very good choice if you were to look at 10's.

Shiva-X's would also do very well.

But until there's a budget here we could throw out recommendations from $100 to $1300 all day long.

Louder depends on the install. But if you want to do something new do the 10's ported.

That's an oxymoron.

You really can't have both. If you go sealed it'll have better SQ but won't be as loud, if you go ported it'll be louder but won't sound as good sealed.

Like it was said before, mutually exclusive goals.

While I agree 100% my guess is the OP could give a rats ass about SQ :(
