Recommended Posts

hi guys,

im using this calculator

http://www.caraudio911.com/tutorials/GainSet/voltage.htm

to get my gains all set up on my truck, and im getting different numbers.

i have 2 sundown saz1500-ds strapped, and 2 d2 fi audio BTL 18s in my s10

can someone help me out on getting these gains where they should be?

also i metered it the other day just setting the gain by ear and it did a 146.8 legal. im getting 2 more sundowns down the road, i want to be in the 150 club!

thanks for your help in advanced,

you might as well just sell the 1500's and get the 3000D. Then add a second one later.

Do you have a load connected or not?

Setting by voltage alone really isn't extremely accurate either due to the actual impedance varying quite a bit from the nominal. I generally set them by ear and back it off a hair once I hit audible distortion.

With a load connected you are subject to the actual impedance -- what voltage are you getting? Can you clamp the AC current?
