What subs to get for T20001

Recommended Posts

I am currently running two Rockford T15's off a Rockford T20001at 4 ohms. I'm thinking about getting 2 15" Fi subs and run the amplifier at 2 ohms. What pair off 15" subs should I get, BL, Q's, or SSD's? Also what options should I get? Thanks

What is your goal?

A set of Q's with D2 coils should do you nicely. They would bask in that power and sound great doing it.

Why Q's rather than BL's? They cost about the same. I'm looking for a great sounding sub that can take a poundin'. I'm just not liking my T1's-and I'm not using my amp to it's full potential. I know at 2 ohms it won't be either, but it let's the amp run cooler=less distortion. Thanks

i would recommend the q's as well but it just depends on what you want and your goals. Also how much airspace do you have available?

Theres a few people out there running the t20001 with a pair of Qs sealed (including one local in Las Vegas with a pair of Q15s). Everyone has been happy with the results. Solid clean response in not too ridiculously large of an enclosure. BLs have to be ported.

Thanks,

Scott

I have a sealed box with 2.5 ft of air space per side-would that be enough for those subs? Thanks

2-2.5 cubes per sub sealed is fine for the 15

Thanks!

I love my sealed 15, i did 2.25 cuft sealed. Sounds absolutely amazing, so clean, and who says a 15 can't keep up with a double-bass peddle? well they're wrong!! However, I will say i had it in 4.8cuft ported to 28hz previously and HUGE INCREASE IN BASS, and absoulutely insane lows, Trae in the hood slowed down was just plain outta control, i was walking all over every system i saw, W7's, L7's, you name it. And it still sounded awesome, just quicker response and tighter bass out of the sealed.
