first off....

dualgunsio5.th.jpg

upper is a remington model 11 sportsman in 12g. it's a bit beat up, will probably find it's way to a cpmpentant gunsmith for refinishing. it shots pretty damn well though, been in the wife's family for years and was passed down to my son for his 14th birthday.

lower is a tc blackdiamond .50 muzzle loader the son got for christmas.

and the prize!!!!

python3yg6.th.jpg

that says python!! yes!!!

python2lp4.th.jpg

python1zz6.th.jpg

it's a 1961 royal blue 6" B E A UTIFUL, sexy beast!! i'm the third owner and can't wait to set this snake off! this is staying in the family for a long, looooonnnnnnng time.

yeah, i'm a bit stoked over this. it's only the second python i have ever seen, first ever in a gun shop and it's mine!! the last time i saw/ shot one, i was my boy's age. i'm 36 now.

enjoy! i will!

It's a Steve Martin classic from the early 90's spoofing the silliness of Los Angles. But honestly, I would like to eventually like to learn more about hand guns. Large mobile weaponry for military usage, no problem, but handguns, not so much.

Honestly, with Arthur, I am now less inclined to buy one.

You should come visit me at work then denim. If the timing's right, I'd get them to let you pull the tail on a big gun, M109A6 Paladin.

on the contrary, now's the time to introduce him to firearms. by the time my boy was 4, i could literally leave my handgun (unloaded of course) on the coffee table with him running the house, go outside, and trust that the gun wouldn't be bothered. he would run outside, tell the gun was there and ask if he could see it. i would say thanks and in a minute. he would wait right by my side till i went in, showed him how to clear the weapon and handed it to him. we would typically have a q and a session and he'd hand it back.

long story short, use their curiousity to teach them, not hide it from them. gun safety starts at home, not in some congressional session.

while i don't know everything, between ryan2, matt and the others here, i'm sure we can lead you down the right road.

Kent, you are correct on the safety. I need to applogize for derailing your thread a little. But on the hand gun and baby thing for me, I would have to really learn a ton before I would buy one, heck you know me (read read read and still not sure ;) not the customer compaies like because I don't pull the trigger :tehe: ).
