I really don't think you have enough room to give 2 18's the proper space.

You could do 2-15's ported to 32hz and be fine with the space you have. 2 18's... you'd have to go sealed.

If you are dead set on porting, it would be wise to go with the 15's I think. But I have an MJ18 sealed and it does very well. :)

The recommended size for the MJ18 ported is 128 litres (4.5 cu. ft.) 30Hz tune. His box internal size is 9.3 cubic feet. Why is everyone saying he can't do a dual ported? What am I missing here?

Because that 9.3^3ft is before the port and woofers. Internal volume will go down considerably after he adds those two things.

Yup, and even to cut back an inch or two to make sure your box will fit, you will end up with ~8.8 cubes - should be enough. If you're after more SPL tune the box to 35Hz. Internal dimensions should be 40" x 20" x 19". Make your port 5.5" x 99sq inches and 17" long. It obviously won't fit in the front, but I'm sure you can work the dimensions around so you can fit the port in.

Considerably? Allowing 1.3 cubic feet for subs and porting still gives him a 8 cubic foot box. Close enough.

Use WinISD to configure your boxes. It takes port area into consideration. That leaves the drivers, which is minimal to non-existent.

No I dont.

He wants 2 MJ18's but the box doesn't fit, therefore I purposed the option of a single IXL 18 with the same power.
