BL or BTL?

Recommended Posts

well one puts out 2500 and one puts out 1500 why couldnt i compare the power ,sorry im just trying to understand

You can compare the power to the amps but like you said on puts out 2500 one puts out 1500 so you really need to know which way your going to go on subs. Didnt mean you cant compare them but if your going with lets say the bl the sundown would be better a btl and the kicker would be better so it would be two diff applications that each would excel in, in this case at least

You can't compare them because like you said.. one puts out 2500w and one puts out 1500w.

Why is that hard to understand?? They're in different power classes.

Ya, definatly not comparable, a kicker 2500 vs a sundown 3000 would be closer if your going to compare watt vs watt now its a 500 watt diffrence instead of 1000

also what is the price diffrence between a Kicker 2500 / sundown 1500 / sundown 3000? thats something also to consider, the dollar per watt,

well i wasnt really trying to compare them , just wanted the one that would produce more watts, i can get the saz1500 for 600 and the kicker2500 for 700 so i thought for 1000 watts more for only $100 more was a pretty good deal, and $700 would be the most i can spend on an amp for me to be able to get the other things i need

yes everything im buying for my new setup will be new ,, nothin wrong with used but its just what i prefer i guess , i think i will be going with the kicker , my 4 channel for my highs is kicker so least they will match up. as for the sub i dont want to spend over $500, so the btl does look like what ill be leanin toward

My vote would be something in the range of a Sundown 1500D and the BL.

In theory, the 18 should be somewhat louder. But 18's usually need a great deal of space, and in many cases when they are not given the space they need, a 15" will get louder.

if you are willing to part with most of that space in the durango then the 18 will get louder but the 15 will need a smaller box if you are interested in cargo room.... And please don't say you are going to put these in a pre-fab box... And btw, an 18" btl thats installed properly will probably completely drown out your front stage.... I don't think there are many sets of speakers that would keep up with that...

well the room basically is not a factor i have the 3rd row seat taken out of my suv, i plan on havin sumone who knows what they r doing to build me a box. so if its set up right the 18 will hit louder?

well thanx guys for all the help, i kno ive been a pain but i hardly ever have $1000 or more dollars to spend on anything, havin 4 kids and all, they take up most my money, so ill be gettin the saz 1500 and the 18" bl and with the the couple extra hundred i saved i will put into havin sum one build me a box. then over the weeks i will get my odds and ends, and should be able to install by the spring time. just a couple quick questions im gettin the cooling ,,ill get flatwind too if it will help and will the universal option hurt the speakers performance at all cuz i really dont plan on ever changin the set up.

thanx again
