1000 watts RMS amp

Recommended Posts

For quality, company, reps, and customer service:

Kicker and Sundown >> eDuh. If you have a 2 ohm final load the kicker 750 would be a great fit, if you have a 1 ohm final load, the Sundown would be a great fit.

Sundown makes great amps. Kicker id skip for the price point. Bang for your buck id go with eD....ive never had a problem with their CS or quality of products.

Ive just heard they have shady business techniques and it isn't really anything with their products, but you hate to do business with someone who you have heard is shady...

Eff eD. Their owner is an arseho and no one should ever do any business with them.

Whats up with forum mods flaming other companies like 12 year olds? Sounds real professional.

Is there some law that says moderators are supposed to be opinionless? :)

Maybe you can ask them why as an owner of an eD product for five years and a member on ICIX since its creation why I'm not allowed to post on the eD sections anymore, because I sure haven't gotten any answers :P

Nothing wrong with opinions but name calling is pretty unprofessional and looks childish. Most of the people who bash ED have never even used their products and just go by what some random guy said on the net. Ive owned and used several of their products for over 2 years and never had a single problem.

If you have a problem with their forums why dont you just call them up and ask them? Their number is on their website for a reason.

What about a JBL BP1200.1 .... I got mine used (but great condition) for $170 shipped. It's rated 1200w rms @ 2ohm. Would that work for him?

I've used their products, and it was, by far, the worst audio related purchase I've ever made.

That's a valid opinion. If i had issues with a brand i would steer clear as well, and i have in the past. I myself have never had a problem with their gear, so whose opinion is more valid? Neither.

Bottom line i think name calling and slander reflects poorly on companies(or people who "represent" them) that do so.

PS. What gear did you have issues with? Just curious.

Their eDead. Every summer, I find more pieces that have fallen off in my trunk and doors. And when they fall off in the doors, they clog up the window mechanisms.

If you had heard everything that happened with Ben in years past, maybe you would have a different outlook on that "company."

Ive heard the stories from like what...4 or 5+ years ago all about Ben. However i wasnt a customer of theirs then. Perhaps my outlook would be different if something had happened to me if i was...but i wasnt. Im not saying give them another chance to people who were unhappy in the past, thats their call. But i think people maybe getting the wrong idea of their current products(that have made them successful over the last few years) due to bitter people saying things that happened so far in the past. Which in turns to.."Oh i heard so and so from this guy on the forums..." which ends up being untrue. I just think their current hardware doesnt get a fair shake from a lot of people(mainly people that have never used one of their products). Also Ben isnt the only guy working there...if you have ever spoken to Alex or Chris you would probably enjoy talking to them very much about anything audio related.

As for the eDead ive used it on 2 different vehicles and havent had a problem. Im actually about to order some UE and some v4 teklite for my new car. My nine.1 puts out more power than its rated and is stable down to 0.5 ohm all day...although that would void the 5 year warranty. So i find it hard to complain. Have you ever tried any of their hardware?

I hope this doesnt sound like im trying to argue im just trying to have a conversation is all.

Reread my post, I wasn't ripping any of their new products as I don't have experience with them; however, I have a few good friends that have been burned by the owner and since he won't own up to fixing their scenario I will stick with my statement that the owner is an arseho and no one should do business with him. It would have been pretty easy to fix in the past, but that was then and my reaction stays.

I still think name calling is a bit much. If you had a bad experience leave it at that and avoid their buisness. A little more professionalism is always needed in the 12v community....actually its very much needed these days.

A spade is a spade and should be called out. No one should do business with the prick.

So you would rather one say that the owner is a thoroughly contemptible person who is regarded as highly unpleasant to deal with because of his poor business practices in which he failed to uphold his end of an agreement...

You don't have to give up. I see it as SSA is a very tight little community and the members look out for each other. I honestly can say that I have been around only one piece of quality product from eD, that would be JimJ's TC built 12" ED flatcone. The way I have seen eD carry out their business over the years, jump from build house to build house, burn bridges, and make excuses like the shipment is still on the boat or something of that nature, just does not sit well with me. It surpassed Ben a while ago, it is now the small army of people that follow his every word. In the audio industry, the smaller companies such as the ones featured here on SSA, including Mark and I, who work hard to make a good product with a small budget and minimal advertising if any, know that customer service is #1, are the ones who are hurt by the on going track record of eD. Wild claims, big promises and pushy "reps" don't make a good product. Buying the product is a physical representation of support of that company. For example, Jacob who owns Sundown, has sold many amps based on just his actions and customer service alone. Thats all I have to say about it.

boy said hell take a chit on it lol! thats wild! ill tell you this i have had alot of jl 500/1's and thay have seemed to be more powerful then a 1000 watt kicker, and the slash series has an awsome ohmload deal where no matter how many ohms the load it its full power,, and THE 500/1 is under rated, slow it has alot of protection, so if your a noob and you seem to be then thats better for you and you can find one with a few sratches on it for 200, or a good used one for 300.

:foshizzle: thats what i say anyway

the 1000 will walk over the jl audio 500/1 when power is the main goal

You can find the Rockford P10001 or T10001's on ebay for around $200. I sold my T10001 on ebay for $215 a couple month's ago. They are more than 1000 watts too @1 ohm. The punch P10001 is right around 1000 watts and can be found for around $200. The T5002 is rated around 1000@ 2 ohms too and the they go for about the same.
