My car setup

Recommended Posts

Alright its been taking me a while to decide a setup. I was lookin into not TOO expensive but also not too cheap. I am not looking for the best SQ out there. Just something that will sound decent and i just wanna make sure this isnt just pure crap. This is what i have come up with.

Or not, just because you have a 4 channel amp doesn't mean you can't bridge it for just the front speakers. Or better yet, use it to run the front speakers passive.

well if you MUST run rear speakers, get a cheap pair and run them off the deck. you can always fade to the front if you dont wanna hear them...

^^ somethin like that

but do as john said. bridge the 4channel if you dont wanna go active to get more power out of the amp for your fronts

As stated before rears are a waste of money, put your budget in the fronts instead.

passive = passive (fixed xover frequency) crossover like so:

http://cgi.ebay.com/BOSTON-ACOUSTICS-SL60-...1QQcmdZViewItem

active = active crossover (adjustable xover frequency) + separate drivers each with its own amplifier channel. example of an active crossover:

Well, not quite.

Active crossover is used to "crossover" before the amplifiers.

Passive crossover is used to "crossover" after the amplifier.

What amp will you be using and what is your budget?

Your best bet will be a good active setup and some smart sealing/deadening to the front doors

If you don't want to mess with active the Pioneer PRS components would be great with some some sealing to the doors

Not even just cheap ones that would be better then stock?
