I would venture to say that almost anything would sound better than Type R coaxials.

Why even bother with coaxials in the first place?

the only reason i'm giving them a try is because i will be runnin a 5.1 system where each of the 5 channels will only be seeing 50w rms. i think coaxials will get the job done, but i already bought some nice components (180w rms) that i can use if they don't.

A 5.1 system with crap speakers will get smoked by a 2.1 system with mediocre drivers anyday of the week. I'd skip on the 5.1 it is completely useless for music and setting your car up for video is well...

you know how when someone asks "what do i get for my car" and everybody says "what are your goals?"... its cool if you don't understand or like it, but it fits my build. i don't know why as soon as i say 5.1 everybody (4 forums) acts like its unheard of. i mean it's a mono center channel... nothing else is different. honestly if it can perform as well as a high end oem system i will be satisfied, because thats the type of car i'm building. not everybody wants the same thing every time.

A lot of money to have it "sound as good as an OEM"
