Stupid IB question

Recommended Posts

So, I get the general jist of an IB setup. Deaden the entire trunk, make a baffle to hold the sub(s) that completely seals the trunk from the rest of the car. Here is my question though, what do i do with the rear deck. I hear of people doing a lot of things regarding it, but I really have no clue what to do, if anything. Help would be great as this is my very first IB setup. I am sure more questions will come about front stage, but later.

Or do you think 2 15" Q's sealed would sound better. I have only ever had ported and am ready for a postive change while making room in my trunk, tired of having no room.

Thank YOu

You do the same you do for the rest of the trunk...seal it up, deaden it, make sure there are no ways for air to escape to the cabin.

So all i need pretty much is to create a "wall" the will completely seal the trunk from the cabin. Cool. I hope i did understand this correctly. Everyone in my area are so wound up with having ported subs, they keep trying to talk me out of a IB setup. I heard that can sound great and still get pretty loud.

if sealed properly and built properly and installed / tuned properly on a correct number of watts for ur driver, ull be surprised by there efficiency of amount of watts it takes to get em moving and wanging. only heard 1 ib setup at car show. some dude with 3 idmax 12s in rear deck off 1200 watts i believe and omg........ it was best sq and LSQ attempt ever heard. it was so beautiful sounding while being pretty damn loud.

but he was a veteran to competing. forget his name. he had an altima i wanna say
