SEAS Mid's

Recommended Posts

I beat Sean to this topic. Anyway to answer the question, there are a good number of models, but do you have a budget and tweeters and amplifier picked out?

Well i was figuring out Active for my morels and since i learned that i dont need that crossover i figured why not look at some other good mid drivers. So i was planning on $1000 for front comps and coaxials so since i am getting rid of the coaxials probally around 400 - 600 for mids. Was thinking about the sundown 100.4 amp.

...and coaxials?

If you're spending that much on the front stage, I wouldn't want anything to spoil it...

The sundown 100.4 will be perfect for the speakers, especially if you want to run active on a budget. The onboard crossovers allow for a fairly basic active install.

I wouldn't use the onboard crossovers with speakers of that range...:)

I have the pioneer 9800 headunit but I don't mind buying a digital crossover. The sundown crossovers are rly not good?

Just not as flexible as you could have with an external unit, or an advanced head unit.

it just harder to get to desired range, but honestly if u dont mind screwing around with crossovers on amp till u dial it in, then i dont see why 100.4 isnt sufficient, i use my 880prs in conjunction with my 100.2 and 100.4 crossovers for my 3 way front stage active + sub. mid bass - 80 - 12 or 80 18 works best, sometimes ill drop to 50 at 24 or 63 at 18. run it up to 400iish, have mid ranges hit 450 to 2.8 both at 18db and then i have tweeter passed at 5 @ 18. (cdts dont like low freq crossover point so 5 blends great.

cdts hd642 what im running active except replaced hd-6 with IDcx4 type drivers.

With that kind of a budget? Audio Technology C-Quenze 6.5's :P

Seas Nextels in a 2-way, or Excels in a 3-way, as well...
