type r components

Recommended Posts

right now i have a jl e6450 amp

http://www.carsound.com/articles/publish/article_268.shtml

and im getting these type 4 components

http://www.alpine-usa.com/US-en/products/p...ng=en&tab=F

the amp does 70 watts at 4 ohms and 110 watts at 2 ohms

my question is can u wire components to get the 2 ohm load? cause the alpine type r components are 4 ohm and i dont want them getting 70 watts when they can be getting the 110

You can't, and the Type R's are so hideous for midbass it probably won't matter anyway.

Don't get caught up in impedance, plenty of people use 8 ohm drivers and still have plenty of output :)

Neither is a bad choice, but the amp you have now is fine, it's just the speakers that are subpar.

You actually have a budget of $300 if you were looking at two sets. IMO you'd be WAY better off spending that all on a single set.

Definitely. It would help to spend near that much on deadening as well

Better, I'd rather skip the passives and go active, though...

what exactly is the diffrence?

You wire each individual driver to its own channel on the amp and let either your Amp or hu handle all the crossovers...
