Box for 15" Q for my civic

Recommended Posts

Im ordering a 15 Q soon and am going to start on my box for it. I was messing with re box calculator and having a few problems getting the right size, i have limited space in the trunk of my civic. I am going to run it ported at around 32hz and would like to get as much cubic feet as i can out of my trunk, any help would be appreciated. Box can not be wider than 34 inches, can not be taller than 16 inches, and can not be deeper than 18 inches, any help would be a appreciated. The cubic feet part is easy to me but the whole port part and how long the port should be is confusing to me. thanks Also on the re box calculator site which number do i use to figure out the 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume. Is it the total port length oe the square port area? if i know this i should be able to figure the rest out, thanks

civicman, 34x16x18 gives you 4.5 cubes to work with. to save a little on displacements try going with a pair of 4" round ports 13" deep each. this gives you 4 cubes for the sub to fire freely in and covers sub and port displacement.

what year civic is it? and 16" high, is that the MAX you can fit getting the box through the trunk opening? i know a friend of mine took his back seat out and slid his box through there.

32 x 16 x 18.5

~ 13.5 ^2in of port per.

not sure how 'on point' that design is , since i just got the hang of this calculator.

well all i really need to know is which number do i use to figure out the 12-16 square inches of vent area per cubic foot of volume. Is it the total port length or the square port area? if i know this i should be able figure it out. I was using this site to design my box

i hada 7 cube box in my trunk.... 92 civic lx taking trunk lid off to get it in FTW

well taking the trunk lid off wont help on my car, its the trunk opening thats a problem not the lid, but i got a design finally that will fit if i take the back seat out to get it in. smaller than i wanted but it should work for now, its about 3.2 cubic feet tuned to about 32. Im sure i could of made a bigger box but i got the sub rear facing and port rear facing.
