This is a new project going in my friends Charger R/T. He wants to slowly setup a nice SQ setup. We will more than likely use the Q's. If doing an IB, the rear deck will be completly blocked off and sealed up. Any suggestions or ideas would be great....thanks.

One problem with the two 15's is that it's really not IB anymore, but it should still have a lot of displacement potential and go very low :)

So for a good IB setup, it would require really only one sub, preferably a 15? This is our first IB setup and we are not 100% where to start. All we want to do is make a super loud SQ setup that is pretty much worthy of competition.

I don't need any more than a single 15"... I very rarely have the subwoofer even being exerted hard.

I imagine even a single 15 with a proper IB could probably wang. I have heard installers say otherwise, but was reading some book about them that said they can be brutal if done correctly.

Umm, loud & IB are not related in fact not even close. SQ and loud aren't either...your whole question is moot although the dual 15's IB sounds the sexiest out of your choices.

Sorry, I am sure my definition of loud is far from what most people on here probably use it as....We are shooting for an overall loud listening experience, not something that is loud for SPL purposes. I guess what I should say is an overall loud system, mids/highs, etc. Something that can get noisy and sound great doing it.

Not loud like BTL's and such, not SPL wise.

how about 3 12's? 12's are the most musical and have the best SQ, and still have the ability to go low, with 10's you're not gaining any SQ from 12's, only volume. 3 12's IB would sound awesome in the rear deck. you'd probably only really need two though. on say...a sudown saz1500d.

It is the design, not the subwoofer size, that determines a drivers "musical-ity".

A 1500 would be extreme overkill for a IB configuration.

3 10's sealed with the correct box and power will be the most accurate for SQ. You'll need to build the box so that the amp you are using can power them to full excursion but not let them get sloppy. Dan Wiggins set me up with all of the specs on how to do this for my old setup with my Brahma and it sounded excellent for SQ with both 500 W and 1000 W but was cleaner and tighter with the 1000 W and smaller box.

That sounds good SQBMW. I think i have seen your car before somewhere, not to sure where though. Maybe you posted pics of it when it came up for sale, cant really remember. I will have to get together with you and Dan and see what I can find out.

I'd go with the 15s. I was listening to 3 sealed 10s in the back of a jimmy today, and I'd rather have 1 good 15 or 18. It really made me appreciate my subs.

Nonetheless all of the options are too much unless you really, really go nuts with the front stage.
