No, the reading bounces all over the place.

Is the sub still in the box? if so pull it out and check all connections from box terminals to speakers.

If its not in the box check the tinsel wires on the sub particularly where they are soldered to the speakers terminals check for any fraying. Or if possible take your measurement from the tinsel wires right where they enter the cone See if you get a good measurement then.

No, sub is out and Im taking the measurements from as close to the cone as possible

Sounds like a coil with a discontinuity. I assume that it is fluctuating on the high side of things? Most likely you need a recone.

Try the 20 setting rather than the 200.

agreed. try the 20 ohm setting and dont read as close to the cone as possible. shaking hands have caused me to get bouncing ohm readings.

put the leads in the the terminals, and fasten them in (whether it be a push terminal or some other form) and then leave them alone. your reading should stay still. it might jump .1 back and forth but thats the dmm's margin of error, if you will, and i wouldnt worry about it
