Recommended Posts

hello i currently have one 18" bl in my trunk and the box pretty much takes up all of the usable space, i have this box :

Anyways i was wondering if it's possible to fit a second 18 while still keeping the box dimensions because i can't make it any bigger due to space restrictions..any help is appreciated..thanks

Nope. While they physically would fit, it wouldnt work well at all. A pair of 15s would do better... What do you have in the way of power?

you could fit 2 but sealed.

if you fiberglassed everywall of the trunk i'm pretty sure you could gain about 14-17cubes to run them ported, but that's a WHOLE lot of fiberglassing and the box wouldn't be able to be taken out. though still be able to get 2 18's :P

got any pics of your how much space your current setup is taking up?

Really looking at like 12 cuft as a minumum... Im sure you could fit that, but it would have to be built in the trunk.

i can't say, i've never heard any of Fi's subs except for the X series. nor have i run sealed subs for more that 1-2hrs. plus i don't think the BL's can really go in sealed enclosures. :/

i suppose if you wanted to stay in the lines of running Fi's you could sell your BL 18 and buy 2 18Q's and run them sealed. or sell the 18 and buy 2 BL 15's and run them ported.

Still using only 7 cuft of net space for the pair? As I mentioned earlier.. they will physically fit, but wont work well at all. If you need a pair of something in their, reconing the 18 to a 25 and adding a second 15 would work in that space. You would gain about 30% in surface area as well as being able to double up the amps for a gain. Beyond that... not too much more can be done with 18s.

Thanks,

Scott
