Ported and tuned to 33hz now.... how about 28hz

I have a ported box now but i thought for fun i would change the port length to get me a tuning of 28hz. Becuse of the lower tuning will that do anything to the efficenty of the design? Would be audibly different while playing? I thought it would drop lower when i put it in from the begining.

sounds like you are not planning on building a new box - just changing the port length. Don't forget, when you change the port length, this decreases the net volume of the box, which raises the tuning frequency. . . .depending on the design, many times I find when I make the port longer, all I have done is lowered my net volume and kept almost the same tuning frequency.

Just make sure you calculate it out before you actually do it. you may have to actually build a new box instead of just making the port longer. . .

i used the RE box calculator to check what i had and then the see what i would need in port length. it seemed ok on that calculator

should be fine to make it longer, i love my box tuned at 28 hz, i listen to a lot of hip/hop so some of the young jock and young jeezy that really drops sounds awesome!!
