Mega Heavy Bass

Baby Mags - Very Impressed & it`s the old series too :)

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

Like the new front page :) Very nice :)

Had a little test at the Talk Audio Guildford Meet on Sunday.

With my Vectras rushed boot install. Sorry this is one of my worst ever installs. I`m ashamed to show it.

But it is loud!!! :)

Yes that`s an Orion 5000d running @ a 1ohm load to those two 12" Baby Mags.

Here are the scores:

S6303408.jpg

Peak Freeq = 142.3dB @ 20Hz

40 Hz= 141.4dB

33 Hz= 141.5dB

25 Hz= 141.4dB

20 Hz= 142.3dB

Total Average score = 141.7dB

Very Happy with those scores :earmuffs:

As for the Escort. I`ve another 15" Mag on it`s way to me Thanks to Nick & SuperiorSounds.

And each of my mags will be run of these amps.

I`m altering the wall slightly to acommodate one more 15" sub. It should be as good as I can possibly make it then...

Can you expand on that?

Nice score!! The BM's are very formidable drivers for sure. When ported those suckers can get nasty!

Yes they can!! I love mine, very loud when I want them to be, shake teh entire car, but when I turn the sub output level down to normal listening levels in my HU they are very accurate and have great SQ, too bad they have 2.5" coils so if I blow one It'll be hard to get a recone :( Then again theres a good chance my BMs may be replaced with the next gen Mags next summer :D:)

2.5" coils are kind of common and im sure u can find a recone kit somewhere its those darn 2" coils that can make things complicated.

I always measure in the ((((Propper Droppers)))) position - On the passenger Head Rest

GFX-Ampsetc018.jpg

The driver window was opened half way

One 70AH battery.

Got rid of that system now.

Now using a minimum / very low powered set up...

Warning: Another messy install

My old Eminence Bass Tube :D

S6303508.jpg

Here are the specs:

1x 12" Stereo Integrity Baby Magnum (Entry Level sub) wired @ 2ohm

1x 1.5 Cu.Ft Sealed Bass Tube.

1x Rockford Fosgate 300.1 (300wrms into 2ohm)

Here are the scores:

Peaking @ would you believe it. 20Hz :earmuffs:

20Hz= 131.0dB

25Hz= 130.2dB

33Hz= 125.5dB

40Hz= 128.0dB

Total Average Score = 129.2dB

It does sound pretty good despite the apparent huge dip @ 33Hz.

I was pleasantly surprised how loud this set up is. I`m quite happy driving round with this as it is...

Wow, as always, nice numbers. We need to get you Shawn F, Ramos, Nick, and Chad together to build one hell of an install.
