UNIT 6639

Fi BL 10" terminal repair

Recommended Posts

I broke my terminal loose pulling the sub out of its box, I tried crazy gluing it back but that aint working, My question is, whats the bolt for on the terminal, the terminal is not screwed on, it looks as if it was just glued on over top of the screw instead of screwed down.

Now, I cant get the terminal flush with the screw head to even glue it down properly, what would you guys suggest? Right now, the terminal is just flopping around, I know that cant be good :(

i had that happen to me too. i got my soldering iron and melted some of the plastic to make the hole bigger. enough to get it flush to the basket. glued it down, checked to make sure the leads wasn't touching anything and called it a day.

Hey, thanks phil for responding :), but, why are they not screwed down? most other subs I had were bolted down and glued.

I really dont understand why a bolt is there if it was not bolted down in the first place. I am thinking that the terminal must have been 2 pieces. One piece was bolted down, then the other piece was glued to the bolted down piece of black plastic.

So, maybe one of the pieces broke and now I am here :)

iirc, it's one piece. there's i nut on the end of the bolt. 8 mm i think. yah i think the black plastic and the bolt were one piece until i broke it and the nut holds that piece to the basket.
