Hi, I found another thread where FI can recone a 3hp to a 18" for me, I found the price. I'm just curious as to what soft parts would be used to recone(as in what lines it would come from) or what parts in general(how many spiders etc, stiffness.) And do you beleive that the reconed 3hp would be good for 2500rms daily?? thanks, Joe

I need the end load to be 2 ohm..so either 4 ohm dvc, or 1 ohm dvc.

Yes we can recone them and we have a variety of parts that can be used for different applications. As for 2500W for daily... probably not. There simply isnt any real cooling in that motor to support it. While we could modify things some, we can machine on a premade motor to really bump things up. D1 coils isnt an issue. Does the motor have the standard 6 mounting holes on a 5" pattern or is it one of the other versions?

no, its the newer version 3hp motor w/ the tall top plate and the 4 monting holes on the plate.. Reason I asked 2500rms is that is what tc rated them with their top assembly. I believe you have made adapters fora standard 12 spoke basket for there before?? thanks, JOe

I double checked it has the 4 holes I guess pre drilled for the tc top assembly....

Motor will have to be sent in to machined...

TC rates their stuff how they rate it, we rate it as to what we think is realistic on a daily driving scenario. IMO you shouldn't need more then 12-1300 watts, anything more then that is wasted heat and strain on your electrical system.

That works for me Just happens I'm picking up a 2nd 3hp motor so I have about 2800rms to play with will work well on a pair of FI reconed 3hp 18's Thanks, Joe
