What to do?

Recommended Posts

I have A Rockford Fosgate T4000 and 2 - 300 amp iraggi alts, 2 - Kinetic 2400's

What is better 4 Kicker L7 15's or 2 Fi BTL's Fully loaded?

Porting the bed of a 02" Chevrolet Silverado Ext. cab Fleetside

What Should I Do?

And What Should I tune It to?

Running the 4 L7's would be a lot more efficient since it would have a lot more cone area. The thing to remember hear is that Kicker makes them so sooner or later they're gonna break.

Meaning from past experiences with kicker L5's and CVR's that they're prone to blow. With 1K watts ea, yeah they'll last maybe 3-4 months before they start cutting out due to insufficent tinsel leads or some other flaw in design

It's not the product's fault when you send 2 times the recommended power to the woofer and it fails...I'd call that user error :)

Your absolutely right..but I was reffering to wickedsdimes and what he has not to my old setups. The CVR's would bottom out with my MTX 1501D's and the L5's kept cutting out because of the tinsel leads. I was only sending ea sub 750 watts rms and hes talking about at least 1K per sub rms and the kicker L7 are rated at I think 1k rms and 2k peak and I know they can't do that everyday.

From my experience, the L7 8's and 10's are tough little buggers. I think the juiced up BTL will handle more power. For a blow through install like what you are talking about, usually larger amounts of 15"s or smaller subs get it done. But then again I have not worked on them, only heard them.

I am willing to use every inch of my 6'6'' bed for the subs

all my amps and batts are going in my ext. cab

I want something thats hits really low and hurts. I want to watch my chit flex and break. lol

I really want something that I can cruise with and show off with.

So get 4 18" BTL fully loaded w/ daily vc and 8 SAZ3000D amps

Use a sledgehammer, it's cheaper to break things with...

Do you have a budget? Also, I think the goal is to see what driver combination will use the power you have at hand in the best way.

In my opinion, The kicker L7's make a strange sound. Maybe its just me or what, but I hate the way they sound. I would go for a Fi set up. There is nothing special about having 4 woofers pounding, but have 2 do just as much damage will get some attention.

I mean, there is a guy locally who has 6 12" Pyle blue wave's in his tahoe, and sure it is loud and all but 2 Fi's would be just as loud and sound better.

I used to have two 15L7s ported in the back of my explorer....they were loud as fawk.

They are tough subs...people blow them up cuz of user error like JimJ said. Kicker wouldn't hold some world records if their crap broke all the time.

Alma Gates is like the only person I've seen break records w/ kicker gear. what was in her bronco 48 10's and 48 amplifiers. I'm not entirely againist kicker but If the budget allows I'd go with some different subs IMO.
