are you looking for 2kw for $300-400? that might prove difficult

I bought my PG Tantrum 1200.1 for $300, not quite 2kW, but you aren't going to hear the difference between 1.4kW and that.

Check and see what Sundown has for b-stock, or maybe check ebay for Kicker ZX1500s or RF 1500.1's

There's no reason to.

I don't get why people feel they have to run the maximum RMS power that the driver is rated to...unless you have a tiny, tiny, tiny, tiny sealed enclosure, you're going to get great results well before you even come close to maximum rated power. A lot of the posts you see in here about people needing recones, melting tinsel leads, etc...stems from this, I'd bet. It's certainly not the speaker's fault.

Would be fine, as long as you know where the volume limits are and not clip it.

that would work....

as for the voice coils, it would all depend on what amp you plan to use....if you used that Hifonics, you would get the Dual 1s....Wire the coils in series so each subwoofer has a 2 ohm load then parallel the two together for a 1 ohm load....

look up some wiring diagrams and figure out wiring speakers for proper impedances...this will help in your search of amplifiers...but the Hifonics would work...they are a good Budget amplifier

but i hate to say it..but i think the eD nine.1 would be a better choice for you...i'm not a huge fan of Elemental Designs but the nine.1 is a good amplifier capable of putting out more than the rated power...like JimJ said...you don't need 2K Watts...1200 would be fine(even though i have read that bench tests show its around 1400-1500 watts)....

"Twin-Turbo Torroid Coil Design" it's gotta be fast....

but honestly, you'll want a better amp err than the hifonics (edit to add clarification)

ed also sucks for customer service, so i wouldn't put too much weight behind that 5 year warranty.

i don't have any experience with the customer service...i heard it was good...i'm not a huge fan of them and their cult...

they used to make awsome subwoofers but their new stuff has never impressed me much...but the nine.1 has been a very dependable and beefy amplifier for the price...i know at least 5 people with at least one nine.1 and none of them have ever had problems with them and they definetely will pound

I personally would avoid it, but YMMV...

There used to be some good stories about Value Electronics-built amps, the Avionixx ones (like the 800.2 I used to have) had a habit of their Tripath circuitry coming apart on its own :)

That was during the pre-ICIX days...

I wouldn't use a Kole amp if one was given to me.

The higher end MTX amps are good, I wouldn't use those though...
