Your Fi Audio link isn't working, but I'm planning on getting a Fi BTL15. From what I've read, they're real tough subs, backed by awesome support. :) Get the upgrades, and you're good for more then the rated 2000W. :)

As for amps, Sundown Audio makes a 3000W @ 1ohm model that can be bridged for 6000W @ 2ohms.

I'm sure theres other big number amps, but I'm sold on Sundown too, from what I've read. :)

You got an upgraded electrical system in your car, or planning to upgrade? A 2000W amp is going to require a healthy amount of juice to power.

The amp can be strapped with another 3000D for a final wattage somewhere in the neighborhood of 6kW.

There is no "bridging" of Mono (1 channel) amplifiers.

Bridging is using a 2 channel amp and wiring it down to function like 1 channel by bridging the two together. Strapping is basically like bridging two separate amplifiers together to act as one.

im kinda considering some type x though has anyone heard both in action how do they compare? for instance i know the type x have better SQ but do they hit as hard? what im trying to figure out is it gonna be a little SPL loss from the Fi to the type x

cause im willing to lose a little SPL for alot of SQ but want i dont want to do is lose ALOT of SPL for a little more SQ

I have experience with the Fi BL's and have only heard Type-X's

but what i'll say is that they're defintely geared towards SQ. In the Alpine line-up, the Type-R's are even more SPL oriented then the X's.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say maybe what you're gearing towards is the Q's over the BL's if you want some SQ based with good ouput.

As for how the Q's line up against the X's...i'm not real sure. But i'd have to lean my way towards the Q's in overall performance. (again, this is with limited first hand experience)

I own 2 10" X's and they will get loud, I had mine runnin in a 91' Mustang HB off my SAZ3000D in a 3.0ft3 vented enclosure tuned to 32Hz and they sound good and hit tight. You do realize that Alpine doesn't make a 15" type X.

You might want to check out TC's Audiopulse drivers. I ordered 2 15" Revos still waiting for them though!!

Type X's CAN get loud but as stated before they are more SQ oriented.....

as for the AudioPulse...probably great stuff, but what SEC is looking for...going to be way out of his pricerange...
