Buying recone for 12" BTL fully loaded

Recommended Posts

Welp im getting a 12" BTL from my friend and its fully loaded with all options but he bought it maybe like a year ago or so.

Now im wanting to recone it to a 18", now my question is do i have the option of adding the HiXmCoil to the recone or is it already understood you get that with a fully loaded recone or what?

Thanks for the responses

Now I'm not an expert, but I don't think you can recone a sub to another size, or can you? Wouldn't that involve replacing the basket at the least? I think recones just replace the cone, the spider, and the coil, the soft bits, not the basket or the motor. I could be wrong though...

Sorry, its normally just understood that the person is gonna buy the basket also...my fault for not being more specific i guess

But yes i am buying a basket for it and the motor is the same with all BTLs well fully loaded ones with my options.

Question still stands

i think the hi xmaxcoil needed the third magnet to work porperly. if you only have a two slug motor, i don't think it will work, though if it's fully loaded it should ahve the hi xmax coil, or at least i would think. how many slugs does the motor have?

And i get a new coil with recone correct...is it an option to use the old coil or is it best to use the new one on the recone?
