Doing a diy front stage you really, really should run them active in particular if you don't buy cheap drivers. It will greatly improve what you have.

I am interested in seeing what you think of those gonzo aluminum tweets I have used the same set in my truck and they seem harsh but it could just be me. z

yeah, what would you recommend i do then? since i had no plan for the HU amp, could i bridge the 4 channels into two channels and then use the 4 channel amp to run the tweeters and the speakers active? or im not too educated on anything besides subs. so can someone please just give me some advice? thanks -wes

Can't bridge the amp in the HU, not designed to take that.

The way I run my set up is active front stage off a 4 channel, and a cheapo 2 channel to power the rear coax's, but I run that amp off a toggle as it's rarely on. Only when I'm in the mood for cranking it up.

If you plan on running the rear fill all the time then HU power might be enough and help to not overpower the front stage.

i really think its too late though to go active, because my 4 channel would be WAYYYY TOO MUCH just to power the front 6.5's and then the tweeters.

I may know her, it would unlikely, but possible. There is quite a few of us down this way that are into the audio, nothing like there was back home.

Sorry to hijack the thread.

RE in a visionik box, hah thats all i can say should sound great though

lol, yeah i know but they were actually the nicest 6x9 boxes i could find, they're built well and like the black carpet with the embroidery. im sure they will hold up and sound better then those other 5 minute glue-together boxes that some chinese guy is selling on ebay for 10 bucks
