Adire Brahma Recone

Recommended Posts

I did a Google search for Brahma recones, and this was the only real result I got back. I know Fi's not Adire Audio, but I was wondering if you guys could help me out. I'm pretty sure I blew one or both voice coils on my Adire Brahma, and I was wondering if you sell recone kits, so I could take the sub to a local shop to get it reconed, or if I could ship the sub to you and get it reconed.

The sub is a 15" Adire Brahma, Mk I or Mk II, I can't tell the difference, it's got the four spoke basket though. Dual 2 ohm voice coils. The cone and surround are absolutely fine, I'm pretty sure i just cooked one or both of the voice coils (sub still plays, but only plays quiet, sounds like crap when turned up). Stopped working correctly after pushing 2000w rms through it.

Anyways, I'm looking to just get it fixed somehow basically without having to buy a completely new sub. It would actually be better if it were possible to swap it to dual 4-ohm voice coils, that way i could wire it to a 2 ohm final load, instead of a 1 ohm, thereby hopefully preventing this problem from happening again.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks! :thanx:

Fi should be able to help you out there, i know they have done re-cones on brahmas before

and IIRC the 4 spoke basket is the MKI

Todd is correct... 4 spoke is Mk1

We can do them. Do you want to send it in or get a kit (price is the same... shipping is not).

What are the prices for either? PM or Email me with a quote for just the kit shipped to 34231, and another quote if I ship the sub to you (I can figure out shipping to you, I would just need to know the price of the kit plus shipping back to me)

Also, what all would the recone involve? I'm pretty sure that the voice coil is blown or something having to do with the suspension, and there is also a small tear in the surround that has been 'fixed.' I don't care so much about the surround being fixed, but I was wondering if the actual cone itself of the subwoofer will be replaced, or just the voice coil or the voicecoil and the surround. I'd like to keep the factory Brahma cone, but it doesn't really matter to me either way.

Edit: Also, just making sure, would it be possible to swap the sub over to dual 4 ohm voice coils?

A recone is a replacement of all the soft parts on the driver.
