sub wiring

Hey everybody, i have 2 2400 watt mono amps (linked together it makes a 2 ohm load) each amp is 1700 rms (by titanium power) im hooking up a Fi 15"btl 1ohm dvc. how do i wire my sub to have a 2 ohm load?

Because my amp goes in protect mode at really high volume help please!!! i just have it wired like this (dont pay attention to the ohms) this connection works alomost to the highest voulume output on my stereo but then goes to protect mode http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/rftech/woof...mp;woofer_imp=1

you did this right. but what could be wrong is polarity. take a 9 volt battery to pop the coil from where its hooked up to the amp, and see if the cone moves. if it does not move check our connections. and the fi btl is not a true 1 ohm sub. its o.7 dcr i believe. well if you have 2 of the same amps, that means each one is 1 ohm mono, so if all else fails with careful gail matching you could just run 1 amp per coil. but i dont think anyone would reccomend this.

i did the 9 volt battery test and it did move the sub. so which way did you mean was right?, the first subs example or the second example? i have it hooked up as the first example pic

the second one is correct for achieving a 2 ohm load. if you have dual 1, wiring in parallel will give you the half ohm load which is most likely why your amps are going into protect mode. most amps cannot handle the effects of running a half ohm load thus overheating or something else and realizing something messed up so they shut themselves off. with dual 1 and wiring in series, you will achieve a 2 ohm load which is much, much more safe for yours amps.

im gonna run 1 amp per coil and level match both amps, because dual series wiring isn't working i'll tell you guys if my sub blows up or something

if your amps are going into protect mode whether it be faulty wiring or over heating, then you can most likely expect that something bad is going to happen if you run 1 amp per coil. your best bet, would be to pay a few bucks and save your self the damage you will do to your equipment and take it to a local professional who can better diagnose the problem
