SAE vs. SAZ

Recommended Posts

This is probly a frequent flying question, but I was wondering if somebody could lead me in the right direction. I'm getting a 15 Fi Q sub, and I cant decide on which sub would be best for me. I'm mainly looking for SQ since I know that it will be loud with either amp. I'm not looking to go into any comps or anything like that. thanks.

What electrical upgrades have you done?

What coil config will you be getting with the Q?

So far, none. I just bought myself a new car. I bought a panasonic indash, but not yet put it in.

I think I'm going to get the dual 2. Would that really matter for either amp?

Other than the fact that it can only be wired to 1 or 4 ohms, its not a huge deal.

Keep in mind that the SAZ-1500D pulls a hell of a lot more juice from the car at 1 ohm than the SAE-1000D pulls.

The Q will be okay with 1500 watts as long as you are responsible. You'll have some extra headroom as well. I've got 2000 watts to mine (no BP power option) and it takes it. I really don't crank it too much and have the gains all the way down.

But what's your budget?

If you can upgraded the electrical system, I'd go for a SAZ-1500D.

If your budget is tighter, go for the SAE-1000D.

I'd really try to go for the SAZ-1500D. You might kick yourself later if you start upgrading. Saves money in the long run.

Whichever one fits your budget :)

Q will be okay on the 1500D with proper gain setting.

Q will also perform very well on the 1000D if that is more fitting to your budget.

This is correct.

I had a dual2 Q on a 1500d at 1ohm, and It was ok.
