Proper power for a fully loaded BTL

Recommended Posts

Ok so im upgrading from my current setup which is a 18 q in a 8.26 cubic box tuned to 28hz. Im gonna bump the tuning up to about 32hz and i need to know with that size box what is the proper amount of wattage to feed a BTL 18 to get full performance. I havent been on here in forever and couldnt find that answer thanx alot

2,000 watts, if you feel that it can take more then great! But we recommend 2kw.

Thanks!

There are a few threads if you search that discuss not only power but possible amp choices. Good luck!

with a box that big, go with (2) 15's and something like a Lanzar opti6000D. . .

Like Nick mentioned, we tend to stick close to RMS ratings on things. With a fully loaded BTL Id say 2500. And yes, most use more than that... but things need to definitely be dialed properly as well.

BTL 18 will work in that space, although most seem to choke them down smaller than that (mostly because the BTL will push on through with its linearity and motor strength in smaller enclosures allowing you to stuff 18s where usually only a 15 would work).

Brian... email sent.
