Help with amp and wireing

Recommended Posts

I just got a Kicker s12l72. I was planning on getting the 40hm but I got the 2 brand new for a steal. But Now Im confused on what amp I should get. Will the Kicker 750.1 be fine. And should I wire it for 1 ohm or 4 ohms?

Thanks

The kicker is only stable to 2 ohms. You should wire the sub to 4 ohms until you can afford something that is stable to one ohm.

if i got this right you got the 2 ohm instead of the 4 ohm sub. If this is correct the kicker 750.1 will be just fine wired 2 ohm.

heh ok did you get the 2 ohm kicker sub or the 4 ohm kicker sub?

If the book that came with your sub says 4 or 1 ohm ummm sounds like you have the 4 ohm model, any ways if its the 2 ohm model the kicker zx 750.1 will pound around 900rms give or take at 2 ohms. its not stable at 1 ohm and at 4 ohms your going to push around 400 rms or so.

the saz 1500d at 1 ohm would be better for a 2 ohm dual voice coil sub than the zx750.1 wired at 4 ohms

Crunch1 doesn't understand that you got the Dual2 ohm version.

(which would be why he can only wire it to 1 or 4 ohms).

You can always turn the SAZ-1500D down. No need to give the sub the full amount of power.

would it be bad for the sub if I gave it 1500watt?

read what I typed. You can turn the gain down.
