Banging my own drum :)

Recommended Posts

Check out these scores :)

Held my 1st official ((((Propper Droppers)))) event this weekend.

Sundays event went really well.

Look at my results.

Taken from my forum:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

:drummer:

:earmuffs:

I`m very happy with my SPL Testing results :D

Couldn`t stop thinking about it on the way home - big grin on my face. :D

:earmuffs: :D1st to hit 150dB+ @ 20Hz in the U.K :earmuffs: :D

I managed to change the speaker wire to 4x runs of 8gauge instead of the two bits of bell wire I was using.

I think the tiny bit of extra effort & more wires did good...

Mega Heavy Bass - Walled / Extreme Systems.

1: Mega Heavy Bass - 4x 15" Stereo Integrity Magnums - Ported - 1x Adassa Audio Warrior amp 5000wrms

Total Average ((((Propper Droppers)))) Score = 150.2dB

Peak Freeq= 152.7dB @ 33Hz

40Hz= 150.4dB

33Hz= 152.7dB

25hz= 151.6dB

20Hz= 150.7dB

10Hz= 143.3dB

((((Ground Pounders)))) = 133.9dB

U.K.s Loudest Streetbasser Score @ 147.9dB - ((((Propper Droppers)))) @ ((((Ground Pounders)))) scores added up & then averaged out.

The only score I`m not happy with is my ((((Ground Pounders)))) score. Last year I was hitting 136.9dB and the sensor was further away & 4 foot off the ground.

Again I`ve sort of shot myself in the foot by tuning ultra low. :help:

Slow downs will not play in my Changer :(

They play in the H`U` but the vibration causes it to skip. :(

And when I get Woofer Cooker things should be different...

I wonder what my scores will be with 10.000wrms :D ....

As you can see the Stereo Integrity Mags are really proving themselves over here.

I`ll post photos when I get some. I didn`t have time to take any when I was there :(

WOW!! Congrats on the score and the record Marcos! 150 dB at 20 Hz is beyond impressive. Expect to see a good bit of tht demo car page taken up with purple once things are switched over. :)

Thanks guys :)

There`s more to come from those Mags yet...

I think someone should start a...

...USA ((((Propper Droppers)))) - SPL testing @ Ultra Low Frequencies League.

It will probably do well as an SPL testing format

I`ve not done it as a competition format. Although the shops that I hold the events at are giving out prizes for the loudest in several groups.

Since it`s not a competition format many normal people seem more inclined to give it a go as they are not up against other people. But what usually happens then is that they try to out do their mates systems. :)

The sensor is placed on the headrest facing the front windscreen. The seats have to be in a normal position as if you were driving the car.

You can see by my results that I would have walked away with a sub & about 4 sets of components. Since the shop was giving away prizes for the loudest in:

U.K.s Loudest.

Walled

20Hz

10Hz

Peak freeqs

Ground Pounders

I kept the sub (New Model Orion HCCA 15") It`s really heavy 36kg !!!

The Orion component sets were given out to the next in line.

And I gave away a brand new set of Fusion Co-axials to the quietest system of the day.

Here`s a graph of my systems performance.

MySPL5000wrms.jpg

My system is far from finished.

Once it`s done. I`ll post you some photos.

The depth charges in U-571, Jurassic Park, and War of the Worlds would be kickass.

VOLTAGE is 12v only:

The system uses only Three 12v batteries.

One of the main problems that I have is with weight.

I don`t want to weigh the car down.

I`ve already uprated the springs and the car can take 350kg.

So that`s why I don`t have many batteries. Also I can`t fit anymore in either.

The batteries are Hawker Odessey PC2150. They weigh in at 33kg each. About 70 pounds each in weight.

The engine is running when all SPL readings are taken.

I`ve had the system playing at very loud volumes for long periods of time. Occasionally turning it up to full whack when required.

I only have a 100amp alternator.

It`s surprising how loud you can play a system without causing a massive strain on the electrics. :)

SENSOR POSITION:

The sensor is placed on the passengers head rest, facing the front windscreen.

The passenger seat must match / mirror the position of the drivers seat.

The drivers seat must be positioned in the normal position as if you were sitting comfortably / driving the vehicle.

The box is 26.5 Cu.ft. Tuned to the Fs of the Sub.

The port has only 197 Sq Inches of port area. But half of this is now blocked off so that it play the lows much better.

And guess what? The peak SPL score doesn`t drop from its 33Hz peak with either port configuration. Weird.

When the car is sealed it reads around 150.3dB @ 20Hz.

When you roll down the window about half way the score increases to 150.7 - I`m confident that I can get up to 2dB more at this frequency.

If you open the door the score drops to 150dB or less.

The scores were done with an Adassa Audio Warlord amp. 5000wrms. And off course those fantastic Stereo Integrity Mags :)
