Need some advice please

Recommended Posts

Today my buddy offered to buy my eD Nine.1 and I am really thinking about selling it to him so I can order an sae-1000D. I have a 15" Q no options with a 4 cubic ft box tuned to 30 HZ. I am thinking about it because I was reading a topic a few days ago and they said that they swaped a 9.1 for a sae-1000D and there was a noticible increase in sound quality. I would have bought the sundown had I know about them at the time.

I was just curious if you guys thought I might really notice a difference between the two. I may end up doing it just because I would feel more comfortable with the quality of the amp. And I am not really happy with the 9.1's sound quality...it sounds like the power acoustic that I had back in the day. What are the prices of the sundown sae-1000D I remember reading some where to email someone for the latest/best prices. thanks for your help.

I'm not sure about an increase in SQ but you would have the comfort of knowing that your amp will actually be warrantied/replaced should anything happen to it, unlike your eD nine.1.

Post #9 in this thread seems to indicate that you would like the 1000D.

You do have a few benefits outside of any sound benefits... as you said before, you can contact me if you want :) I have extremely fast warranty service, I will replace the amp in about 90% of cases so you have a new unit coming back to you quickly. You can strap the 1000Ds if you want another one later.

I would do it just to get anything related to Ben Milne out of my car. SQ or not, the amp would be an upgrade in a lot of ways.

Yeah that is the topic that got me to really wishing I would have got a sundown. :) But I was curious if I should do it or it would be worth it. Just thought I should get some opions from a few people that really know there stuff. Looks like I may do it just so I can have some peace of mind. I was mostly curious if anyone had swaped the two and seen a difference. I'm sure that there will be though can't do anything but go up from this disapointing amp. lol thanks for all your help.

I have a Nine.1 amp...I love it. Plenty of power. Pretty efficient to me...my stock alt and big three does fine with the amp at full tilt at 1 ohm...voltage doesn't drop below 12.8 volts. The Nine.1 amps seems more efficient than my friends Memphis 1000D.

My first Nine.1 amp had a small scratch on it when i opened it up...I called up eD the next day and told me to check my email...I had a return stamp in there that just needed to be printed and slapped on the box...then three days later I had a new amp at my door...yeah they sent me a new amp before I even sent them back the amp with the scratch...thats good customer service to me.

But this is the Sundown Forum though lol

Thats just your personal experience ...... I sent a sub back to get warrentied, they recieved the sub (have a tracking number confiriming this) fews day pass i call and they tell me they never got it. I give them the tracking number and they look it up and give me the run around. I call the next day they said a new sub has been shipped, i said cool and asked if they had a tracking number. Long story short, they clam they sent me a sub which i have yet to get and they have no tracking number confirming it was actual shipped. ED Customer Servies FTL < < < just my personal experence tho. If you can swing the extra $$$ for a 1500D then I'd go that route. The extra power and being able to wire down to .5ohm might not be needed in your current install, but it'll give you room to grow. Just something to consider.

I'm VERY impressed with SD amps and Jake's CS, that's why I now own 4 1500D's. NO regrets on purchasing them as they peform flawlessly...

I was originally going to get the Sundown 1500D amp...but with my budget I couldn't fit it in...so Nine.1 it was.

I'm happy though...I'm sure in the future I'll get a sundown amp...I am in need of a 4 channel badly though
