Total Cost for Repair?

Recommended Posts

Anyone at Fi, I need to send back my 15" Q for repair. My brother wanted to help me when I was attaching it to the box and he slipped with the drill, poking a hole in the rubberish material between the paper cone and the gasket. I was wondering what repair costs would be for that? I no longer have the box it was shipped to me in, so what I will have to do is have Fi send me a box for it. If it is an option, I would also just like to have the box already pre-payed to ship to y'all and then y'all send it back to me, and I can pay the total for repair and the shipping both ways, whatever it would be.

I am pretty sure I am going to have this sent back and have that replaced, but is there any way that I might fix it myself that is aesthetically pleasing?

Thanks for the help,

Joseph.

You just poked the surround? If you can post a picture of it.

Hey, Sean. Just incase you havn't seen, I found the problem in the way I had it wired... something was wrong about the terminals on the box, so I'm just going to run the wires straight through...

As for the hole, yes, that's the problem. Any way I can fix it myself?

Thanks

Go get a tube of urethane based windshield adhesive..

Put a piece of tape on the back side of the surround, fill the hole up with the sealer...

Much cheaper then paying for a whole recone

Thanks

As for the terminals, that is why I wanted you to check the subs independently of the box right away. And the urethane is fine depending on the hole, a pic would really help. ;)

It's not too bad, I just didn't know whether I could fix it well enough or not... really more of a tear than a hole. That streak on there is super glue (not my doing).

Try to glue it with the windshield adhesive, if that doesn't work your only out a few bucks...instead of ~90 for a recone..

I would doubt it, but it should say on the container.
