Any new 2008 cars your excited about??

Recommended Posts

I keep waiting to see if they built that Vette with the blower, though I'm not a huge vette fan. If I spent that kind of cash on cars the GT-R would be interesting and I just read about a new BMW twin turbo DI diesel that hauls beans. Sorry fact is I'd rather buy other things, mostly things that don't depreciate near as fast. I think I have more fun on my lifted golfcart than I did in my awd turbo car, and that car was fun...but thats just me. An STi would be cool, but I'd rather have a used one than new. New Evo looks interesting also yet my last mitsu had some issues. For real use I might look at that turbo ute mazda makes, the CX-7. Fact is I'd rather have a diesel in nearly anything I would buy and nobody really has them yet. Mustangs are cool too but I really don't have a use for one right now.

blah blah. the new ford gt500kr ( "King of the Road") they say its gonna walk all over the 08 corvette with the sl7 engine. google it

Not a chance. I'm betting that the standard vette will be able to keep up with it.

I'm really excited to see the G8 on the road. The new CTS is fantastic as well. I like the dash a whole lot better than the 3's too.

I'm really excited about the new diesels making it to market. BMW is rumored to have a 135d and 335d on their way to market. MB is working on a hcci motor. A Gas engine following diesel combustion principals. Should offer great economy and reasonable performance.

The R8 is sex on wheels.

Kind of disappointed by the M3. Too heavy and refined. Lost some of its soul i think. I'd still love a e46 M3 though.

I'd love to see that in the M coupe.

At anyrate, The CSL version should be quite perfect.

It is my understanding that they are bringing that engine over in the 5 though.

how about the new Mazda RX-7 that is suppose to be coming out...haven't seen any pictures yet but it is suppose to be pushing around 300hp from a 1.6 liter N/A!(rotary power of course) so i can only say that it will probably be an awsome car

The TA would be much better without those damn hood scoops.

That trans am looks like a vette minus the front end. The mustang reminds me of the current eclipse. I'd have to say I don't really like either. That accord has one big draw back. They make a sporty looking coupe, but rear wheel drive. The angle in the pic is actually the good angle, the taillights are hideous and the rear end just doesn't look right.

Unfortunately, I can't really look forward to any of the new cars coming out. I just totaled my bimmer a week or two ago, but I'm not going to be able to afford any of the cars I really like. I'd love to have a 135 coupe but thats a little more than what I want to spend at the moment.

Oh my is that T/A fugly. I had one of the screaming chickens, man that was a fun car, not the best performer but way fun (and a fn killer stereo in it!). Of course I don't like that new camaro at all; it looks like a cadillac to me...just like that T/A does. The current mustang is pretty cool but that one sucks, I doubt it will be made unless they want to lose a pile of sales....not out of the ordinary for ford however. A car would have to be special if it were RWD since I could not drive it all winter, and I got tired of that years ago.

I test drove the new 2008 CTS the other day and all I can say is wow. After driving a Older CTS, current model STS, and older model STS, this the best car ive ever driven that said Cadillac on it. They finally made a "complete kick ass" car.

Too bad the IRS will fall apart if you put any power into it. Frickin' GM can only get close.

for all you haters on the gt500kr im just telling you what my issue of car and driver said. dont hate the playa hate the game

lol...ain't hatin if we spittin the truth. oval boys just can't admit to it. the only time ford has topped the vette in recent history is the gt40, and you paid more for it.

at least ford circled their mistake. hehe

I like how you have to use an exception. The GT smokes the Vette in every regard.

Just like the Vette smokes every other car costing less than half as much as it does (and some costing significantly more) in every regard. Two aspects the GT can't compare are availability and affordability, though. I could buy a Vette an a Viper for what I'd pay for a GT...if I could find one. Not one in Vegas. Pretty significant for a city with multiple Porsche, Lambo, Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls, and even a Saleen dealer. Every one of the 5-6 Chevy and Dodge dealers have a handful of Vettes or Vipers in the showroom.

but it is just that, an exception to the rule. even in the 60's, it took the cobras, the cobra daytonas and the gt40 to beat the corvette. everything else just doesn't measure up.

and as helo pointed out, teh vette is easily a world beater when price, performance, availability and ease of service is all factored in. no, it doesn't have ferrari's handbuilt excellence or finess, but it takes a ferrari costing twice as much or more to beat it.

oh and with teh new mandate of 155mph top speed (IIRC), it's kinda pointless.

To carry the same argument I could have said of course you can buy two Mustang GT's for the price of the Vette or modify one to beat it.

The bottom line is it is about market segmentation, Ford could care less about the Vette and perhaps GM should learn from them. If the General can make it another 5 years without filing chapter 11 I will be very surprised. Their whole goal of cutting costs to sell more cars to try and support their infrastructure is killing them and they aren't learning. Ford on the other hand is changing to fit the times, even JD Power realizes this as they rated Ford's reliability higher than any other company in the most market segments. GM didn't even come close to any. Their actions and designs are going to kill them as a company. At the moment they are the downfall of the Detroit economy as well as they are so big their actions effect everything else in town and believe me being a supplier to them it is ugly as hell at the moment.

GM's lousy business plan aside....

to carry your argument, i could take the money i could spend on a gt40, buy a z06, modify it and kill the gt40.

you tomato, i say tomaatoe(i have no clue how to spell lol) argument.
