Sundown SD-1 Subwoofer Blowout Sale

Recommended Posts

The old thread got cluttered and I think people thought I was out and forgot and left the thread pinned :) So, I started a brand new fresh thread... the blowout sale is still going on.

-----

The SD-1 model is being closed out and discontinued due to sluggish sales. They will still carry full warranty as I will hold onto some of them for warranty replacements:

Jacob, i dunno if u remember me, im currently designing my personal project of 20 10" subs in one of those panel vans, tell me, seeing these subs and the power it can take, i wont mind using 20 of these, and well if more insanity kicks in, i might just try 24 of them. u think 24 on 3 SAZ 3000ds could kick it big time?

Lon,

You could tear up 24 of them on three 3000Ds if you weren't careful :) If you set up the gain properly on the amps to keep the subs from seeing the full brunt of the power they would do fine, though.

They are a 200-watt design, and will handle that much for several hours without issue. You would be pushing it with 8 per 3000D as that could deliver 375 watts to each of unclipped power, which would be pushing the limits thermally for even a few minutes.

Yes :) I believe Rich was doing mid to high 130s with two of the 12s.

I run two of the 10" SD-1s ported in my daily car on an SAX-100.2 and it is in the low 130s.

They are little subs, of course, so don't expect them to blow out your windshield or anything... but they do have great output for 200 watt RMS subs.

And what exactly are you using for a front stage that will blend with 130dB???

how do the 12" compare to jl's w3v3 granted that i think the w3 are targeted for low wattage spl.

The W3V3 actually has very similar T/S parameter, but it does have more x-max than the SD-1.

I imagine it is also quite a bit more expensive.

dokey...

front stage...probably these

Pioneer Premier TS-C720PRS

http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAudio/Pr...ProductID=17068

and some good dampening!

Great set, but no where near the 130's...

whachu mean by no where near the 130's????

do you mean i will be under that number or over?

I think he means your component set won't get you into the 130s :) Meaning your sub stage, if it was in the 130s, would be louder than the front stage.

I think they should make a new classification of car audio setups....It gets pretty loud and doesnt sound bad doing it...more like loud but doesnt sound like poo...

lol

Im pretty sold on the subs though

w/ these subs would u go sealed or ported if i was looking for accurate deep and big bass?

I'm not sure what your tastes are... they go pretty low sealed, but will have substantially more output ported.
